Lyons Tearooms

I wanted to do something similar to the highly popular Chocolate shop so I created a Victorian tearoom. Tearooms became very popular in the Victorian era as it was a place that the ladies could visit without needing a chaperon. J. Lyons and Co. were one of the leading chains of Tearooms throughout Britain.

As always there's more pictures on the Tearooms page.

The Red Mansion

A few weeks ago I manged to finish another mansion in the same style as the Cluedo house. Although I did create a page for it I'm only just getting around to mentioning it here on my main blog.

Like the Cluedo house the Red Mansion actually closes up, which I 've always loved being able to shut it up and keep my cats out of it when I'm not using it. I've also included a working piano in this version.

So if you like these pictures I hope you'll visit the Red Mansion page to see more. this mansion is also currently for sale.

A Second Claridges

Well I might have been a bit quiet here on the blog but I can promise it's been nonstop here at home. I'm in the middle of several large mansion I've had commissions for, that have taken over my living room. At the same time I'm trying to do other work here and there and I keep losing things! I've finished a Chocolate shop and I'm hoping to take pictures today of it as I've only just got new shelves. The whole thing has been complete for the last few week all I had to do was put the trays of chocolates on the shelves, but I lost them! I still don't know where they've gone. It's one of those things that when I don't need them they'll turn up - typical.

In the meantime I have finished a second Claridges for Raul, I hope Maria who first suggested the idea likes it although she's already said it wont be as good as the original I built for her!

I've added extra photos to the Restaurant page as well if you'd like a closer look at the newer one.  As you can see they're very similar but because everything is hand painted and decorated using currently available parts no two of my building will ever be exactly the same.

A Chocoholic Few Days

Well I've been indulging myself over the last few days with dreams of fine chocolates! I've just finished work on my two chocolate shops and the last job was to make all the individual chocolates. so of course I've had to eat a few for inspiration! If you'd like to visit a great chocolate shop for real I would highly recommend Hotel Chocolate great stuff a bit expensive but very nice. So having browsed through their pages and my mouth watering at the goodies I made a few of my own.

The top picture is how they are displayed in the chocolate shops on gold trays.
